3Theatre offer an exciting new award for young people age 5+ that records and recognises wider achievement.
This award programme has been credit rated and levelled by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) on the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF).
Young people choose a challenge, think about and comment on their achievements, record time spent on their activities and gather evidence of their participation.
Select : ‘I would like to be an award student’ when registering.
Key features of the awards
Are for young people age 5+
Have a minimum of 5 hours of activity ( ‘Smile!’ courses range between 20-40 hours wowee!)
Have 3 levels (Star Rating) based on the young person’s cumulative hours
Are inclusive and suitable for young people with a range of interests and abilities
Are credit rated on the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) where they sit at level 2

HOW THIS FITS IN WITH ‘ SMILE!’ WORKSHOPS
Help with evidence collation and peer assessment happens between 3:30-4:30pm with our fully trained staff.
PERFORMANCE DAY/ FINAL DAY
Please note that the last day ends with a performance and the course will finish at approximately 3:30pm at which point all students are free to leave with their parent/ guardian ( whoever is in the audience) . All awards work will be completed by the morning on the last day.
There is an additional cost for participating in the award work due to extra time, administrative costs and staff training to be able to deliver this work.
4 day courses +£24 to basic/ early bird course fee
5 day course +£32 to basic/ early bird course fee PLease note that the award work and submission is not part of any prize or voucher won. This is a course add-on
LONG DAY = EXTRA SNACKS
We will make sure that all candidates are well looked after with appropriate breaks. It is advisable to send awards students with at least 3 healthy snacks and one packed lunch through out the day. Water bottles are essential and can be re-filled through out the day at water fountains found around the venue.
The official certificates/ awards will be sent via post to you approximately 6 weeks after completion once all submissions have been approved.
They will receive an official certificate showing their name, their challenge, hours completed and a statement of their ‘special achievements’. The certificate will also show the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) level and credit points.
